Master Thesis

Master  Thesis (Thesis) is a set of subjects to guide the research work of each Master student. The student must achieve at least the fifth level of Bloom Taxonomy (to evaluate a set of methods/theories/approaches/rules) as a minimal expectation to conclude his/her study. The subjects  consist of Seminar Research Proposal (Seminar Proposal) and Master Thesis (Thesis) that are defined as follows :

SUBJECT NAME: THESIS PROPOSAL SEMINAR (1984601) & EXAMINATION (1984602)
CREDIT: 4 credits (SKS)
PREREQUISITE: RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
Objectives:

  • The student is able to communicate their research topic & material to the supervisors.
  • The student is able to describe related methods/theories/approaches/rules in order to answer research questions.
  • The student is able to develop a proposal for a Master’s thesis that achieves at least the fifth level of Bloom Taxonomy (to evaluate a set of methods/theories/approaches/rules) as a minimal expectation.
  • The student is able to present and defend their proposal in front of a group of examiners.

Activities:

  • Consultation of research material to supervisor.
  • Identifying research problem and formulating research question & scope.
  • Describing related methods/theories/approaches/rules to answer the research questions.
  • Developing literature review, research methodology & references.
  • Developing research proposal for Master thesis.
  • Presenting & defending the research proposal in front of a group of examiners.

 

SUBJECT NAME: SCIENTIFIC PUBLICATION (PUBLIKASI ILMIAH/1984603)
CREDIT: 2 credits (SKS)
PREREQUISITE: –
Objectives:

  • The student is able to communicate research method & finding to research communities.
  • The student is able to develop scientific publication.

Activities:

  • Consultation of research material to supervisor.
  • Identifying research problem and formulating research question & scope.
  • Describing related methods/theories/approaches/rules to answer the research questions.
  • Developing literature review, research methodology & references.
  • Developing research publication.
  • Communicating research finding to the communities.

Assessment Standard:

  • Student must become the first author of the published paper
  • Publish in Journal indexed by Scopus/WoS / SINTA 1 and the Journal or publisher is not listed in BEALL’S PREDATORY LIST : A
  • Publish in Journal indexed by SINTA 2-3 : B+
  • Publish in Journal indexed by SINTA 4-6 or Proceedings indexed by Scopus/WoS : B
  • Publish in other publication (journal/proceedings/book chapter) : C+

CREDIT: 6 credit (SKS)
PREREQUISITE: SEMINAR OF PROGRESS REPORT

Objectives:

  • The student is able to communicate their research topic & material to the supervisors.
  • The student is able to describe the related methods/theories/approaches/rules in order to answer research questions.
  • The student is able to develop a Master’s thesis that achieves at least the fifth level of Bloom Taxonomy (to evaluate a set of methods/theories/approaches/rules) as a minimal expectation.
  • The student is able to present and defend his/her Master Thesis in front of a group of examiners.

Activities:

  • Consultation of research material to supervisor.
  • Identifying research problem and formulating research question & scope.
  • Describing related methods/theories/approaches/rules to answer the research questions.
  • Developing a comprehensive literature review, a set of research methods for comparative study, a set of experiments and discussion, and a set of references.
  • Developing a Master thesis.
  • Presenting & defending a Master Thesis in front of a group of examiners.
