Open Talk Academic

The Informatics Engineering Study Program at UIN Malang University held an “Open Talk” event on Monday, February 10, 2025. This event was held online. This two-way discussion aimed to evaluate the teaching and learning process in the fall semester of 2024/2025, including academic evaluation, and to prepare academic activities for the spring semester of 2024/2025.

The event was opened by Ahmad Fahmi Karami, M.Kom, as the moderator, and continued with remarks from the head of the IT study program, Dr. Fachrul Kurniawan, ST., M.MT., IPU. In his remarks, Dr. Fachrul noted that this activity was attended by students from the 2018 to 2024 cohorts.

One of the important points discussed was the student satisfaction index survey report. The survey results showed that out of 6,395 respondents, the student satisfaction index toward lectures in the fall semester had increased.

“We are very pleased with the increase in this satisfaction index,” said Dr. Fachrul. “This shows that our efforts to provide a good quality education have paid off. However, we will not stop here. We will continue to improve the quality of lectures so that students receive a better learning experience.”

In addition to the survey report, the Open Talk event also presented academic evaluations from the previous semester. The speaker explained in detail the results of student learning and how the evaluation was conducted. Approximately 20 slides were presented to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of their academic performance.

“This academic evaluation is important to determine the extent to which students understand the material that has been taught,” said Ahmad Fahmi Karami. “By knowing the results of this evaluation, students can better prepare themselves for the new semester.”

This event also became a forum for students to provide input and suggestions related to the teaching and learning process in the IT study program, including input related to academic evaluations. This input will be used as evaluation material for the study program to improve and enhance the quality of lectures in the future.

“We truly appreciate the input from students,” said Ahmad Fahmi Karami. “This input is very valuable for us to continue to develop and provide the best for students.”

This Open Talk event is expected to be a good communication bridge between students and the study program, so as to create a conducive and quality learning environment.
