The Informatics Engineering Study Program of the State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang held AWS Discovery Day on Thursday, October 31, 2024. This event is a collaboration between Trainocate Indonesia and Amazon Web Services (AWS), aiming to provide students with an in-depth understanding of the basics of cloud computing and the advantages of AWS services. The activity, which was held online via Google Meet, took place from 09.00 to 12.00 WIB and was enthusiastically attended by 109 Informatics Engineering students of UIN Malang.
The event was opened by Dr. Ir. Fachrul Kurniawan, ST., M.MT., IPU, Head of the Informatics Engineering Study Program of UIN Malang, and Furin Ongko, Head of Marketing of Trainocate Indonesia, who gave a warm welcome to the participants. The main session was hosted by Alya Zulfia Amaranggana, an AWS Certified Trainer, who delivered material related to the importance of cloud computing in the modern era. Indira R. Azzahra acted as the quiz guide, giving an interactive touch to the event.
The AWS Discovery Day agenda covers three main topics: Introduction to Cloud and AWS, Overview of AWS Services, and Security and Compliance Overview. In her opening remarks, Alya Zulfia explained the basic concepts of cloud and how AWS is a pioneer in providing cloud computing solutions for various industries. In the next session, students were introduced to various AWS services that support company productivity and efficiency. An explanation of security and compliance in AWS closed the material session, underlining AWS’s commitment to protecting its users’ data and privacy.
To increase participation, this event was designed in an interesting way with interactive quizzes before and after the presentation of the material, which gave attractive prizes to the winners. The enthusiasm of the students was evident from their enthusiasm in answering quizzes about cloud computing and AWS, adding to the excitement of the event.
AWS Discovery Day is expected to provide new insights for students regarding the application of cloud technology and its potential in the professional world. This activity is also proof of the commitment of the Informatics Engineering Study Program of UIN Malang in preparing its graduates to compete in the increasingly advanced digital era.
