International Collaboration: Joins the Global Research Project on Digital Education Innovation

Academic and researcher Dr. Yunifa Miftachul Arif has officially joined an international research project focused on innovation in higher education based on digital technology. This global project was initiated under the auspices of the Directorate of Research and Engagement (Dirección de Investigación y Vinculación).

The research project, coded 627.A.XVIII.26, is entitled “Learning Environments Enhanced by Digital Technology: Mobile Learning, Augmented Reality, Mixed Reality, and Artificial Intelligence.” The project officially began on April 29, 2026, and is planned to run for 36 months, ending April 29, 2029.

Based on the ratified Acta de Inicio (Initiation Document), Dr. Yunifa Miftachul Arif was appointed as Investigador Externo (External Researcher). In this role, Yunifa who can be contacted via academic email at yunif4@uin-malang.ac.id has primary responsibility for fully supporting the project’s implementation throughout its 36-month research commitment. He is part of an international team of experts led by Luis Santiago Criollo Caizaguano as Project Director, and collaborates with other external researchers such as Sergio Luján Mora and Oswaldo Moscoso.

The primary focus of this research, with a total budget of $85,877.81, is to analyze in-depth the impact of utilizing cutting-edge digital technology on the teaching and learning process in higher education. The research team will evaluate how mobile learning, augmented reality (AR), mixed reality (MR), and artificial intelligence (AI) can impact students’ academic performance, motivation, and acceptance of technology.

Dr. Yunifa Miftachul Arif’s involvement in this project is expected to significantly contribute to achieving the research output targets. The project targets the development of empirical evidence, educational guidelines, and the publication of six scientific articles in highly reputable international journals (Quartiles Q1 and Q2), including IEEE Access and PeerJ Computer Science.

This collaboration is a strategic step for the development of science, particularly in integrating immersive technology to create meaningful and innovative learning experiences in the digital age.
