The Informatics Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Science and Technology, UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang sent three lecturers to attend the 7th APTIKOM National Congress (Munas) 2026. This national event took place on October 8–11, 2026, at Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta.

The three lecturers representing UIN Malang were Dr. Ir. Supriyono, S.Kom., M.Kom., Shoffin Nahwa Utama, M.T., and Dr. Totok Chamidy, M.Kom. The event was attended by 1,152 participants representing various universities across Indonesia.

This year’s 7th APTIKOM National Congress carried the theme “Transforming Higher Education in Informatics in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Advancing Impact-Driven Campuses and Research Downstreaming for Competitive Human Resources in Indonesia”. This theme discussed ways to transform higher education in informatics in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) so that campuses can produce impactful research and prepare competitive human resources.

During the event, Prof. Husni Teja Sukmana was elected as the General Chairman of APTIKOM for the 2026–2030 period. He currently serves as the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology at UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta. In addition, Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya, S.Si., M.Si. from Telkom University was elected as the Secretary-General.

The election of the new leadership is an important milestone for higher education in informatics in Indonesia. The new leadership is expected to integrate technological advancement, ethics, and human values. The Informatics Engineering Study Program of UIN Malang is ready to support APTIKOM’s programs to improve the quality of computer education and research in Indonesia.
