A proud achievement was once again made by students of the Informatics Engineering Study Program, State Islamic University (UIN) Malang. Moh Musa Al Kadzim, one of the active students of the study program, won 1st place at the Indonesian Provincial Championship (Kejurprov) Amateur Mixed Martial Art (IBCA MMA) East Java.

The prestigious competition, which was held at the Pertamina UB Sports Hall, Malang City, from September 6 to 9, 2024, competed in various classes, including the men’s senior class. With his agility, strategy, and champion mentality, Musa as he is familiarly called managed to outperform his competitors and climb to the highest podium.

This achievement shows that UIN Malang Informatics Engineering students are not only excelling in academics and technology, but also able to compete and excel in non-academic fields such as martial arts. The balance between hard skills in programming and soft skills such as discipline, mental toughness, and sportsmanship reflected in this achievement, is a plus that is highly valued in the professional world.

This proves that UIN Malang Informatics Engineering students are complete individuals, intellectually intelligent, and physically and mentally tough. Hopefully this achievement can motivate other students to be active and excel in various fields,” said the Head of the Informatics Engineering Study Program of UIN Malang.

Musa’s achievements in the IBCA MMA arena are expected to be an inspiration to the entire academic community, showing that dedication and passion in any field, when taken seriously, will produce brilliant results.
