Malang, August 1, 2024 – The Master of Informatics program at Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang conducted a comprehensive curriculum evaluation starting in March 2024, continuing through the subsequent months until May 2024. This initiative involved the entire curriculum evaluation team and aimed to ensure that the program’s curriculum remains relevant, responsive to changes, and of high quality.
The curriculum evaluation process began with data collection and analysis. The evaluation team gathered data on the latest developments in the information technology industry, labor market needs, feedback from stakeholders, and the current curriculum’s performance. This data was analyzed to identify the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats to the existing curriculum.
Following this, the team carried out curriculum mapping. This process involved reviewing the current structure and content of the curriculum. Each course, topic, and skill taught was evaluated to ensure they remain relevant and aligned with the desired learning outcomes.
Based on the analysis and mapping results from the previous stages, a new curriculum was planned and developed. The new curriculum adopts an Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach, tailored to the latest developments in the information technology industry, the dynamic needs of the labor market, and feedback from various stakeholders.
The primary goal of this curriculum evaluation is to enhance the quality of education, ensure that graduates are relevant to labor market needs, and strengthen the institution’s contribution to advancing knowledge.
This curriculum evaluation is a strategic move by the Master of Informatics program at UIN Malang to address the challenges posed by changing times and the evolving needs of the industry. With the updated curriculum, graduates from this program are expected to significantly contribute to the field of information technology and possess a competitive edge in the job market.
