Curriculum Review Workshop 2024

On May 16, 2024, the Informatic Engineering Department at UIN Malang conducted a Curriculum Review, attended by Prof. Dr. Ir. Shofwatul ‘Uyun, S.T., M.Kom., IPM., ASEAN Eng from UIN Sunan Kalijaga as a key speaker by zoom Meeting . The evaluation resulted in several important recommendations for the enhancement of the curriculum in the future.

One of the main points of the evaluation was the emphasis on Outcome-Based Education (OBE), which demands the measurement of students’ mastery of Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL) from the program. This includes measurement from various courses studied, such as through student achievements or publications, which will be included in the Surat Keterangan Pendamping Ijazah (SKPI).

Additionally, the evaluation suggested that CPL should refer to the program’s association and should not be overly extensive, and should be adaptable to the international accreditation standards being pursued. Input from various stakeholders, including lecturers, laboratory heads, and members of the Quality Assurance Unit (UPM), was also considered crucial for curriculum renewal to improve education quality.

In an effort to build a stronger curriculum, the evaluation also recommended that the program should focus on its scientific vision to develop a curriculum based on its strengths. The proposed curriculum could contain 4-5 graduate profiles that describe the expected mastery of skills and professions related to those skills.

Each course is expected to have Course Learning Outcomes (CPMK), Semester Learning Plans (RPS), a clear course structure, and appropriate assessments to ensure the quality of learning provided to students.

With these recommendations, the Computer Science Department at UIN Malang is committed to continuously improving the quality of education and students’ mastery of skills in accordance with the demands of the times.
