UIN Empowers Fishery Community with Smart Solar Cell

UIN Mengabdi Qaryah Thayyibah successfully conducted an event themed “Empowered by Renewable Energy: Utilizing Smart Solar Cell for Energy Independence in the Development of Red Tilapia Intensive System (REDTIS)” on June 14, 2024, in Slilir Village, Bakalan Krajan Sub-district, Malang City. The event was attended by members of the fish farming community, community leaders, and experts in renewable energy and fisheries.

By utilizing smart solar cell technology, the REDTIS community can now harness solar energy for their intensive red tilapia fish farming operations. This technology not only provides an environmentally friendly energy solution but also reduces operational costs and dependency on fossil fuels.

Shoffin, the leader of the UIN Mengabdi Qaryah Thayyibah team, hopes this technology can serve as an example for other communities. The event also included technical training for the REDTIS community on the operation and maintenance of the solar energy system.

One participant, Agung, expressed his gratitude for the program, stating, “The smart solar cell technology greatly helps us reduce energy costs and increase productivity.”

The event concluded with the symbolic handover of the smart solar cell installation to representatives of the REDTIS community and a group photo with all participants, fostering a spirit of collaboration and innovation for the development of more self-reliant communities in the future.
