On Tuesday and Wednesday, July 23-24, 2024, the Informatics Engineering Study Program at Maulana Malik Ibrahim State Islamic University (UIN) Malang conducted its Community Development Program (CDP) at the Nurus Salam Islamic Boarding School in Lodoyo. This event was part of the university’s community service efforts and aimed to strengthen the synergy between academia and local communities.
The delegation of lecturers arrived at Nurus Salam Islamic Boarding School in the morning and were warmly welcomed by the board of kyai (Islamic scholars). The warm reception from the kyai demonstrated their high appreciation for this program. In his welcoming speech, a representative of the kyai expressed hope that similar activities would continue and inspire other community service programs.
This activities were carried out in parallel by groups CDP, each assigned specific themes and areas of expertise. Each group was responsible for providing training, outreach, and other social activities beneficial to the students and the surrounding community of the boarding school.
At the conclusion of the event, the students and the kyai held an evaluation session to assess the effectiveness of the activities carried out. The evaluation results indicated that this year’s CDP had significantly positive impacts on the participants and the surrounding community.
With the conclusion of this event, the Informatics Engineering Study Program hopes to continue its collaboration with Nurus Salam Islamic Boarding School and other communities to realize sustainable and beneficial community service efforts for all parties involved.
