Malang, July 10, 2024 – Agung Teguh Wibowo Almais, a lecturer of the Informatics Engineering Program at UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, successfully defended his dissertation titled “Prescriptive Analytics for Clustering Building Damage Levels Post-Natural Disasters.” The dissertation defense took place in the MC Conference Room, 5th Floor, Mipa Center Building, FMIPA-UB, starting at 3:00 PM and concluding later that day.
Agung’s dissertation holds significant relevance in the field of disaster mitigation, particularly in addressing building damage. By employing Prescriptive Analytics, Agung developed a method to cluster the levels of building damage following natural disasters. This research aims to provide more accurate and swift recommendations for handling building damage and improving disaster mitigation efforts.
In his presentation, Agung explained that the use of Prescriptive Analytics enables more directed and optimal solutions during emergency disaster situations. With more precise clustering of damage levels, authorities can respond more effectively and efficiently.
